Welcome back to Comic strips and Storyboards, featuring, the Pixton Add-in! Day 38 of 365 Ideas for Office 365. Yesterday we looked at how to find and add add-ins. So grab the Pixton Add-in and let’s tell a story! #OnlyInPowerPoint
At first glance, Pixton might remind you of Bitmoji because of the style of graphics. While Bitmoji can be used in a lot more places, Pixton is far more customizable. For example, I can easily find several Bitmojis that say “Thanks”, or “Thank you”, good luck finding one that says, “Thank you for bringing me coffee this morning!” or “Thank for doing the dishes.” Pixton is totally customizable.
Start by choosing one of Pixton’s 25 character.
Choose a character
Then give him or her an outfit. Choose on from twenty-five options! For most comics and stories, your characters won’t need to change outfits!
Choose an outfit for your character
Now choose a pose. This is the best part of Pixton. Remember a couple days ago when we were creating stories with characters we found online? The toughest part was finding the same character in multiple poses for subsequent cells. Not a problem for Pixton! This time there are 66 choices, 33 full- bodied and 33 from the waist up.
Pose your character
Once you chose a pose, you then decide whether to use the one with, or without, a speech bubble.
Add and customize a speech bubble
Whichever you click on, it inserts it onto the slide. It now behaves like any other object in PowerPoint- you can resize and move freely, and (I don’t know why you would…) you can even make it semi-transparent.
Pixton not only solves the problem of having a character in multiple, appropriate, poses, it eliminates the need to add and format speech bubbles separately.
Gather your students! It’s Story Time!
